Food Fight! A Bread and Biscuit Smackdown

Who’s got the best recipe for bread and/or biscuits? Fair Food Fight is holding a Smackdown contest to find the very best.

In April, the Great Mashed Potato Recipe Smackdown was a huge success, with food enthusiasts from all over the country hurling a cool array of creative and delicious mashed potato recipes at each other. And the trashtalk was thick – pro wrestlers got nothing on cooks and chefs when it comes to smack.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes to throw down with Fair Food Fighters, we want your recipe in the mix. The bread mix, that is. We’re looking for your best bread or biscuit recipe, and the concoction that wins the most votes here on Fair Food Fight will receive:

corazonA Fair Trade lucha libre mask of your choice from Corazon Fair Trade (samples at left)!

Here’s how the Smackdown works.

1) Create a Fair Food Fight profile in order to post a recipe in the Smackdown.

2) Once you create a profile, you’ll see an option to  “Post a blog entry” in the upper left hand corner of the home page (by your icon). Post your personal, original, and unadapted recipe for bread or biscuits in the editing window. You can also post photos (250 x 250 works best) of your incredible recipe to entice votes.

Before you hit save on your post, type in the keyword “Bread Smackdown” (see this post as an example) so we can organize posts easily.

Note: To be eligible for votes, you must post your recipe by noon on Monday, June 7.

3) Voting begins at noon on Monday, June 7. Gather your posse to vote for you, but all voters must have a Fair Food Fight profile to vote. Anonymous votes will not be counted. (Happy, Richard??)

Voting will end at high noon on Friday, June 11.

4) Smack talk is a fun part of any smackdown — we encourage you to join the fun on Twitter by following Fair Food Fight and also following the hashtag #fffsmack to “track the smack” — but you can let your awesome recipe do your trash talking, too. (Amy_Boland has been known to whither whole populations with her smack — so be forewarned.)

Remember, trash talk should be delivered with a smile, so make sure your smack has a friendly undertone. No swearing and no personal attacks. FFF reserves the right to pull comments from the site and to disqualify participants and votes/voters if need be. So let’s keep it on the light side.

I’m on the sidelines for this one but I will try my best to provide catcalls, taunts, aggravation, and mindless boosterism as appropriate. Thanks for the shout-out, Dragon.
